The stone looks like real cotton with a frosted cotton texture. But the stone will hold up and make this jewelry last. \u003cbr\u003eThe pictures show that this is not a flat piece and it has a lot of dimension and detail.  I have only offered my hand carved stones in solid 14kt gold settings for the last 25 years because they are each one of a kind and very labor intensive.\u003cbr\u003e However now for the first time I am offering them in a 14kt Gold Vermeil Setting.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eThis is a piece of fine jewelry that I hand make using stone carving which is almost a lost art.\u003cbr\u003eThe Cotton stone is mounted into a cotton boll hull that is made out of 14kt Gold Vermeil.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eVermeil is a heavy 14kt gold overlay onto a base of 925 sterling silver. \u003cbr\u003eThis is considered a luxury product using all precious metals.
